A late afternoon visit to our local wildlife park, Nature world.
There is a walkthrough enclosure with quolls, wallabies, ducks and Cape Baron Geese. My 2 young daughters, at the time, were not big fans of Cape Baron Geese. These rather large birds liked getting a bit too close for comfort and my girls certainly had a healthy respect for the fact we were in their space.
The sun was getting low, but still providing lots of warmth. Standing on the pathway in front of us was this stunning mamma and her little babies. We stopped, hesitating to go any closer. Cape Barron Geese are loyal and fiercely protective of their young. In the afternoon sun, mum lets down her guard to have a moment to herself while her chicks explore.
